About Zoë Dagneault

The verdant beauty of Naramata's lake valley shaped my formative years as a highly contemplative child.

My childhood spent in nature fostered my existential understanding of life, systems and the people around me. My love for the outdoors continues to be a rich territory for contemplation and growth. You will likely find me on the trails with my dogs or exploring some body of water on the Gulf Islands.

My career in mental health began two decades ago in Vancouver’s public health sector, where I worked extensively with at-risk and street-entrenched youth. This experience illuminated the critical gaps in our social support systems and reinforced my belief in psychotherapy as a powerful tool for healing and transformation, particularly for those who have been marginalized by oppressive structures.

Becoming a mother vastly recomposed my interpretation of life and parenting, providing transformative insights into how meeting children’s fundamental needs shapes their experience of the world. This personal journey deepened my clinical understanding of human development and the lasting impact of early relationships.

My commitment to social justice, expressed through advocacy work and poetry exploring feminism, motherhood, and systemic change, brings a socially conscious lens to my therapeutic practice.

In my current private practice, I provide individual and couples therapy to clients spanning diverse life stages and experiences. I work with young adults exploring their identity and family origins, new parents adjusting to their evolving roles, couples seeking to improve communication and deepen their connection, and individuals navigating challenging times.

Core themes in my practice include depression and anxiety, childhood trauma integration, historical and intergenerational trauma, substance use as adaptation, self-worth, intimate relationships, sex, belonging, and the universal human need for meaning and purpose.
